Carrier vs Network: What's the Difference? Part 2

Learn more about the network options in your state!

If you read our previous blog post "Carrier vs Network: What's the Difference? Part 1", you learned that your carrier refers to your insurance carrier (i.e. EMI Health), and your network is the list of doctors and facilities that are contracted with your carrier. In Part 2, you will learn about your network based on that state in which you live.

Care Plus

If you live in Utah and need in-state care, you will use EMI Health's Care Plus network. The Care Plus network offers exclusive access to the Intermountain Healthcare (IHC) system of hospitals and clinics. EMI Health contracts with additional hospitals, specialty clinics, and provider groups, bringing the total number of in-state providers to over 30,000.

Aetna PPO

If you live in any state besides Utah or are a Utah resident who needs care out of state, you may have the Aetna PPO network. Aetna's network is known for its extensive provider network and high customer satisfaction ratings, offering members excellent nationwide coverage.

Additional Notes

*When you call your provider and they ask which insurance you have, they often mean what network you have. You can say that your carrier is EMI Health and utilizes [network name], the network listed on your ID card.
